Derbyshire Distillery scoops another award

October 24, 2019

Derbyshire Distillery was named as Chesterfield Food Producer of the Year at the annual Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards Ceremony.

The event, which took place at the Winding Wheel Theatre in Chesterfield on Wednesday 23 October, was hosted by celebrity chef Brian Turner CBE.

A total of 27 businesses were shortlisted across nine categories, with seven being nominated for the first time, including Derbyshire Distillery, which was established in early 2018.

Commenting on the company’s success at this prestigious annual award ceremony, Derbyshire Distillery’s head distiller, David Hemstock, said: “For a start-up distillery that has only been producing a range of gins for just over 18 months, we were delighted to have been named as the Food Producer of the Year.

“The award not only reflects on the consistent quality of gins that we produce, but the hard work and dedication of everyone in the team. We are indebted to everyone that has supported us from day one and would like to thank the judges for conferring this prestigious award and would also like to say ‘well done’ to the runners-up.”

Derbyshire Distillery is based at new purpose-designed facilities at Markham Vale, adjacent to junction 29A on the M1, where they also have a fully licensed shop open that is now open to the public.
