Derbyshire Distillery has had three of its gins shortlisted by the judges at The Gin Guide Awards 2019, which entitled the company to be additionally considered for the prestigious Distillery of the Year award.
On Tuesday 30 April the judging panel will announce the name of one of the finalists who will become Distillery of the Year; the winner will be one of the distilleries that submitted gins from around the world and produce consistently high quality (and high scoring) gins in-house with a range of at least three gins in a variety of styles and categories.
The judging panel for The Gin Guide Awards includes experts with significant on- and off-trade experience, including gin producers, marketers, event managers, leisure operators and mixologists.
Commenting on the shortlisting across the various categories, one of the founders of Derbyshire Distillery, David Hemstock, said: “For a start-up distillery that has only been producing a modest range of gins for just over 12 months, we are delighted that three of our gins have been shortlisted and that as a result the entire company is up for such a prestigious award.”
Derbyshire Distillery is currently based in Staveley, but will be moving operations to new purpose-designed facilities at Markham Vale, adjacent to M1 junction 29A, where production will continue during May 2019. At the new distillery all administration, sales and distilling operations will all be under one roof.
