For the last few weeks we have been doing what we can to help combat Coronavirus by manufacturing much-needed hand sanitiser.
Keeping your hands clean is one of the main ways of reducing the risk of spreading the virus and so when we heard that there was a shortage of hand sanitiser, especially needed by those working on the frontline of the healthcare sector, we wanted to help.
Since the end of the March we have been selling to local authorities at cost and we have also given away hand sanitiser to Ashgate Hospice and the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and we continue to supply frontline healthcare professionals.
Commenting on the support of the hospice, Phil Meakin, one of our directors, said: “We are delighted to be helping to combat this pernicious virus and that we’re able to give something back to the community.
“Charities of all sizes have been severely impacted by Coronavirus and we are pleased that we’re able to do our bit. We’re also pleased to be able to provide a much-needed product for our customers for free whilst the lockdown continues.”
We will continue to produce hand sanitiser for the foreseeable future and are looking at the possibility of producing scented varieties to reflect the range of some of our flavoured gins.
